ETA No Confidence in Stewart Regan

At the 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Edinburgh Tartan Army on Saturday, a vote of confidence was taken about the position of Stewart Regan. The reason behind the vote was the inordinate length of time it has taken to appoint a managerial successor to Gordon Strachan who left his position over three months ago. With the draw for the inaugural UEFA Nations League taking place this Wednesday (24th January), Stewart Regan has had ample time to identify and employ the best candidate.

It is extremely disappointing that after going public with his preferred (and only) choice he has failed to land his man. We will now likely attend Wednesday’s draw without a manager in place. In any case, the next incumbent will not be the chief executive’s primary choice.

It is for the above reasons, coupled with failure to qualify for a finals tournament under his reign, that the Edinburgh Tartan Army have carried a motion of no confidence in Stewart Regan.  For the good of Scottish football he should resign as Chief Executive of the SFA.
