Day of Joy

Saturday 15th April sees the 50th anniversary of Scotland becoming unoffical world champions – the Day of Joy.  This of course is the date that Law, Lennox and McCalliog all notched at Wembley in England’s first defeat since the year before 1967 – the Day of Hell that we avoided by spending the day at Killiecrankie last year.

This is definitely a day worth marking and celebrating.  We’d like to organise an event to show the match in it’s entirety, have a few drinks, reminisce and perhaps show some of the many other achievements that our country has celebrated on the football pitch since then.  It’s our intention to have a few of the fans that were there that day in attendance so we can learn what it was like back in the glory days.

To enable us to choose a suitable venue for this evening of football pleasure can you let us know by the end of this week (that’s Friday 24th March) if you’d like to come along?  Non-members welcome.  Cost will aim to be zero and we’ll kick off proceedings around 7pm. Email the mailbox with your interest.
